Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the management, maintenance, optimization, and security of our on-premise and cloud-based database systems. You will play a critical role in ensuring data integrity, performance tuning, data migration, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities (KRA)

- Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases (both on-premise and cloud)

- Design and implement database structures including tables, views, procedures, functions, triggers, and CTEs

- Develop and manage ETL/ELT workflows and data pipelines using SQL and Azure Data Factory

- Monitor and maintain database performance, including tuning and optimization

- Handle installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades of database software

- Implement and manage robust backup and disaster recovery strategies

- Ensure data security and compliance, particularly with sensitive data (e.g., PII data)

- Manage user access, authentication, and authorization mechanisms

- Track and manage logs, database sizing, and growth forecasting for capacity planning

- Work with software vendors to coordinate and resolve database-related issues

- Conduct regular health checks and audits on database systems to prevent potential issues

- Monitor and resolve issues related to database integration and data migration

- Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements related to data handling

Required Skillset :

- Strong expertise in SQL development and scripting

- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle DB environments

- Experience with database structures : tables, views, schemas, procedures, triggers, cursors

- Proficiency in data encryption/decryption and database-level security mechanisms

- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse

- Familiarity with data warehousing and data mining techniques

- Experience managing both cloud and on-premise database infrastructure

- Proficient in handling import/export operations and integration strategies

- Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning abilities

- Knowledge of regulatory standards for data protection and handling (e.g., PII)

- Experience with capacity planning and long-term storage optimization

- Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Candidate Profile :

- 6 to 10 years of relevant experience as a Database Administrator

- Strong exposure to managing enterprise-scale databases and large datasets

- Based in Bangalore and available to join immediately
