Job Overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer with strong expertise in Azure Cloud Infrastructure and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) to support enterprise-scale environments. The role focuses on infrastructure modernization, virtual desktop delivery, file server migrations, and secure cloud operations.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing large user environments, executing complex migrations, and ensuring infrastructure reliability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities / KRAs :

Azure Infrastructure & Virtual Desktop Management :

- Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise-scale Azure infrastructure, including compute, storage, and networking.

- Manage and optimize Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments supporting 500+ concurrent users.

- Create and manage AVD host pools, session hosts, application groups, and workspaces.

- Configure autoscaling policies using Nerdio to optimize performance and cost.

- Build, maintain, and update gold images using Azure Compute Galleries.

- Partner with application owners for application installations, testing, and validation on AVD images.

File Server Migration & Storage Operations :

- Perform file server migration analysis, planning, and execution from on-premises to Azure.

- Execute migrations using Azure File Sync and Robocopy with minimal downtime.

- Validate data integrity, permissions, and performance post-migration.

- Execute cutover activities during scheduled maintenance windows (nights/weekends).

Identity, Access & Security Management :

- Manage identity and access using Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Active Directory.

- Assign and manage security groups to deliver line-of-business applications to appropriate users.

- Implement RBAC, access governance, and least-privilege models.

- Perform regular access reviews and security audits.

Cloud Migration & Modernization :

- Lead and support on-premises to Azure migrations across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS workloads.

- Troubleshoot migration issues and optimize post-migration infrastructure.

- Ensure alignment with cloud governance, compliance, and security best practices.

Networking, Backup & Monitoring :

- Manage Azure networking components including VNets, subnets, NSGs, and routing.

- Configure and maintain Azure Backup for virtual machines, AVD, and file services.

- Monitor infrastructure health, performance, and availability.

- Perform root cause analysis and proactive infrastructure improvements.

Operations, Documentation & Support :

- Provide L2/L3 infrastructure support and incident resolution.

- Participate in change management, patching, and release activities.

- Maintain detailed documentation including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and SOPs.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including security, applications, and service delivery.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Mandatory Certifications :

- AZ-104 : Azure Administrator Associate

- AZ-140 : Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty

Technical Skills :

- Strong hands-on experience managing Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments at scale.

- Expertise in Azure File Sync, Robocopy, and file server migrations.

- Experience with Nerdio for AVD automation and cost optimization.

- Proficiency in Entra ID (Azure AD) and Active Directory.

- Strong understanding of Azure networking (VNets, subnets, NSGs).

- Experience with Azure Backup and Azure Compute Galleries.

- Proven experience migrating workloads from on-premises to Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.

- Experience supporting enterprise production environments.

Soft Skills :

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Ability to work independently and handle critical infrastructure tasks.

- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

- Willingness to support off-hours cutovers and maintenance windows.

- Strong documentation and process orientation.

Nice to Have :

- PowerShell scripting and automation experience.

- Experience with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.

- Exposure to cost optimization and FinOps practices.
