Description :
Role : Infrastructure Engineer Database & Storage
About the Role :
We are hiring an Infrastructure Engineer Database & Storage to architect Perceive Now core data-fabric layer, ensuring high availability, low-latency access, and secure storage of all evidence artifacts. You will design multi-region, versioned, and auditable storage systems that form the foundation of Perceive Now trust layer.
Responsibilities :
- Design and maintain PostgreSQL clusters, OpenSearch indices, and Azure Blob / S3 buckets for high-throughput, low-latency operations.
- Architect schema registries, metadata catalogs, and time-versioned stores to track dataset evolution and lineage.
- Implement replication, partitioning, sharding, and query optimization for large-scale relational workloads.
- Configure read replicas, PITR (point-in-time recovery), and WORM (Write Once Read Many) compliance for immutable data.
- Set up encryption-at-rest (AES-256), encryption-in-transit (TLS 1.3), and key rotation policies via KMS / Vault.
- Develop infrastructure automation using Terraform, Helm, and Ansible, integrated into GitHub Actions / Azure Pipelines.
- Manage monitoring and failover automation using Patroni, PgBouncer, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Collaborate with DevOps to deploy cross-region replication and disaster recovery (DR) strategies.
- Benchmark I/O performance, indexing efficiency, and query response times for continuous optimization.
Required Qualifications :
- 6+ years of experience in database administration or cloud infrastructure engineering.
- Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals (VACUUM tuning, query planning, lock management, indexing strategies).
- Experience deploying and managing OpenSearch / Elastic clusters and object storage solutions (S3 / Azure Blob).
- Hands-on with IaC (Terraform, Helm) and Kubernetes-native DB deployments.
- Strong understanding of backup automation, replication lag analysis, and read/write consistency management.
- Familiarity with high-availability setups, failover orchestration, and secrets management (Vault / KMS).
Preferred Skills :
- Experience implementing schema registries, data catalogs, or metadata versioning systems.
- Knowledge of policy enforcement using OPA and audit pipelines to SIEM tools (Splunk / Sentinel).
- Exposure to OLAP optimization, columnar storage, or vector search (pgvector, Milvus) for high-dimensional data.
