Position Overview :

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Java backend development, expertise in building responsive, user-friendly interfaces using React, and experience with deploying and managing web applications on AWS.

Additionally, knowledge of Python and willingness to work on data engineering will be essential.

A background in bioinformatics is a plus, making this role perfect for those interested in working within the domain of precision medicine and genomics.

Key Responsibilities :

- Frontend Development with React : Build intuitive and responsive user interfaces using React, ensuring a seamless user experience across different devices and browsers.

- Backend Development with Java : Develop backend services and APIs using Java and related frameworks such as Spring Boot, ensuring efficient and scalable server-side logic.

- AWS Cloud Deployment : Deploy, manage, and optimize web applications on AWS using services such as ECS (Elastic Container Service), RDS (Relational Database Service), S3, and Lambda.

- Database Management : Design and manage databases, write complex SQL queries, and optimize database performance, leveraging AWS RDS and other related services.

- Data Engineering : Work on data engineering tasks, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes. Leverage Python for data processing and manipulation.

- API Development and Integration : Develop RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services to enhance application functionality.

- Code Review and Collaboration : Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate with other developers, designers, and product managers to deliver high-quality software.

- Testing and Debugging : Write unit and integration tests, debug issues, and ensure the robustness and reliability of the codebase.

- Continuous Improvement : Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, continuously improving the codebase and development processes.

Qualifications :

Professional Experience :

- Experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate, and other Java-related frameworks.

- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks/libraries like React.js.

- Experience with AWS services such as ECS, RDS, S3, Lambda, and CloudFormation for deploying and managing web applications.

- Familiarity with RESTful API development and integration.

- Experience with database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB, particularly within AWS environments.

- Proficiency with version control systems like Git.

- Data Engineering Skills : Familiarity with data engineering concepts, ETL processes, and Python for data processing.

- Domain Expertise (Nice to Have) : Experience in the bioinformatics domain, working with genomic data or similar, would be highly beneficial.

- Experience with cBioPortal or similar applications will be a plus.

Technical Skills :

- Strong expertise in Java and related frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot).

- Extensive experience with front-end technologies, particularly React.js.

- Solid understanding of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

- Experience with database design, SQL, and ORMs like Hibernate.

- Proficiency in deploying and managing applications on AWS using ECS, RDS, Cache, and

related services.

- Familiarity with build tools and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Maven, Jenkins).

- Experience with Python for data manipulation and ETL processes will be a plus.
