Dynamics NAV to Business Central.

Role Overview :

The Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Consultant will play a pivotal role in assessing, designing, and delivering robust ERP solutions. This role requires deep functional and technical expertise in both Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Business Central, with proven experience in managing NAV-to-BC upgrades, data migration, and system optimization. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, understand client business processes, and provide end-to-end implementation support.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead end-to-end implementation of Dynamics 365 Business Central solutions, including requirement gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, and deployment.

- Perform NAV to Business Central upgrades, including data migration, extensions, and process optimization.

- Develop and deploy AL extensions and assist in the transition from C/AL to AL programming language.

- Customize and configure modules (Finance, Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Manufacturing, and Warehouse) to meet client-specific needs.

- Analyze existing NAV solutions to identify gaps and propose modernization strategies using Business Central.

- Integrate Business Central with Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps) for enhanced reporting and automation.

- Provide post-implementation support, end-user training, and documentation.

- Collaborate with functional consultants, developers, and project managers to ensure successful project delivery.

- Stay updated with the latest Business Central features, updates, and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Strong experience (5+ years) working with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Business Central.

- Proven expertise in NAV-to-BC migration projects, including data transformation and system upgrade methodologies.

- Solid understanding of AL language, Extensions v2, and migration from C/AL to AL.

- Proficiency in Business Central core modules : Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, Purchase, Manufacturing, and

Service Management.

- Hands-on experience with Jet Reports, Power BI, and Business Central integrations with third-party

applications.

- Knowledge of Azure services, Business Central Cloud architecture, and on-premises deployment.

- Strong understanding of Web Services (OData, APIs) for integrations.

- Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to map business processes to system functionalities.

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills for client-facing engagements.

- Microsoft Certifications in Dynamics NAV/BC (preferred)

Key Skills for Transition from NAV to Business Central :

- Data Migration : Expertise in upgrading data and customizations from NAV to BC using available migration tools.

- AL Development : Ability to convert legacy C/AL code into modern AL extensions.

- Cloud Readiness : Understanding Business Central SaaS vs. On-premises architecture and best practices.

- Extensions and Customization : Creating and deploying extensions without modifying the base code.

- Integration Knowledge : Power Platform and API-based integrations for enhanced functionality.

- User Experience Enhancement : Leveraging BC's modern interface and capabilities to improve usability.

- Testing & Validation : Strong knowledge of test automation frameworks and methodologies during migration.
