Information System Auditor - Amazon Athena

Job Description

Key Responsibilities :

- Serve as the primary point of contact for all Data and BI programs, ensuring alignment with business goals.

- Size data environments for optimal performance and drive enterprise-wide adoption of BI tools and practices.

- Provide expert-level knowledge in AWS services (Athena, Bedrock, RDS, Lambda) and BI platforms (Tableau, Alteryx).

- Partner with vendors for evaluation, selection, and full life-cycle implementation of data solutions.

- Build and lead a high-performance Data & BI team capable of delivering against project plans.

- Own scope management, cost management, and quality control through production release.

- Collaborate effectively across departments, using influence to manage dependencies and drive positive outcomes.

- Establish and manage a sustain/DevOps team for operational support and iterative changes based on evolving business needs.

- Plan and execute upgrades and enhancements with zero unplanned business downtime.

- Share ownership of cloud cost optimization and drive cost-effective resource utilization.

- Foster a culture of innovation and learning, promoting active upskilling within the team, particularly in GenAI and LLM-based technologies.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) :


- Robust contracts with implementation partners addressing competency, commercials, and risk management.

- On-time, on-budget delivery of program milestones.

- High quality of delivery, including minimized scope creep, effective change management, and low defect rates in production.

- Demonstrated innovation through GenAI/LLM implementations and measurable improvements in user adoption of BI solutions.

- Successful cloud cost optimization initiatives.


Technical Skills :


Must Have :


- AWS services: Athena, Bedrock, RDS, Lambda Cloud Functions.

- BI & Data tools: Tableau, Alteryx, and advanced SQL.

- Strong expertise in data sizing, architecture, and performance tuning.

- Knowledge of DevOps practices for Data & BI systems.

- Proven experience integrating LLM-based GenAI solutions into BI workflows.

- Strong understanding of cost management and optimization in cloud environments.

Good to Have :


- Experience with data governance frameworks and compliance requirements.

- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL best practices.

- Familiarity with Python or other programming languages for data manipulation and automation.

- ITIL or Agile/Scrum certification for managing projects and operational support.


Education & Qualifications :


- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Technology, or a related field.

- 1015 years of experience in Data, BI, or Analytics roles, with at least 5+ years in a leadership or managerial position.

- Certifications in AWS, Tableau, or Alteryx preferred.
