Role : Senior Observability Engineer

Role Summary :
Senior-level observability architect responsible for designing and building the enterprise observability strategy from the ground up. This is a hands-on architecture role combining strategic design, platform implementation, and operational maturity enablement. Not a pure management role and not limited to tool administration.
Key Responsibilities :
- Define and own the enterprise observability vision, roadmap, and operating model
- Design scalable reference architectures across applications, infrastructure, and cloud
- Build observability platforms from scratch (not just tool deployment)
- Establish MELT (Metrics, Events, Logs, Traces) correlation frameworks
- Lead tool evaluations, PoCs, and vendor assessments
- Architect monitoring, alerting, telemetry collection, and visualization standards
- Implement and optimize MTTD and MTTR measurement frameworks
- Define SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets aligned to business KPIs
- Develop observability maturity models and adoption frameworks
- Drive alert quality improvement and noise reduction initiatives
- Introduce synthetic monitoring and proactive reliability engineering practices
- Contribute to AIOps and automation-driven observability enhancements
- Collaborate closely with US-based stakeholders and engineering teams
- Mentor engineers and act as a technical coach across teams
- Ensure documentation, governance, and enterprise-wide standardization
Must-Have Experience :
- 8- 12 years in enterprise observability, SRE, APM architecture, or reliability engineering
- Proven experience building enterprise observability platforms from scratch
- Strong hands-on expertise with Grafana
- Working knowledge of tools such as Prometheus, Dynatrace, Datadog, or equivalent APM platforms
- Deep understanding of MELT framework implementation
- Strong experience designing reference architectures and operational maturity models
- Demonstrated success improving MTTD and MTTR
- Experience gathering stakeholder requirements and translating into architecture
- Excellent English communication skills (US stakeholder collaboration experience required)
Preferred Experience :
- Microsoft Azure cloud platform experience (primary environment)
- Financial services or professional services industry background
- Experience working with US-based teams
- Availability for US Eastern Time Zone overlap
- OpenTelemetry implementation experience
- Exposure to synthetic monitoring and AIOps platforms
