Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Java Developer with strong expertise in backend development, microservices, and REST APIs, along with extensive hands-on experience using AI coding tools. The role involves building scalable software components, developing reusable integrations and plugins, and delivering high-quality solutions in a product engineering environment.

The ideal candidate should combine strong software engineering fundamentals with the ability to leverage tools such as Cursor, Claude, and GitHub Copilot to accelerate development while independently validating AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and microservices using Java.

- Design and implement RESTful APIs and reliable backend services.

- Build connectors, plugins, integrations, and reusable software components from scratch.

- Use AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, and GitHub Copilot extensively across coding, debugging, refactoring, testing, and documentation.

- Review, validate, and optimize AI-generated code to ensure correctness, security, performance, readability, and adherence to engineering standards.

- Develop modular, maintainable, and reusable components aligned with product architecture and business requirements.

- Perform performance, load, and scalability testing to identify bottlenecks and improve application reliability.

- Debug complex application and integration issues and conduct root-cause analysis.

- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.

- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Follow best practices for API design, secure coding, automated testing, version control, and software development.

- Contribute to improving engineering productivity through effective AI-assisted development workflows.

Required Skills & Experience:

- 3 - 6 years of experience in software development, with strong hands-on expertise in Java.

- Strong understanding of Java programming, object-oriented design, data structures, design patterns, and exception handling.

- Hands-on experience developing microservices and REST APIs.

- Experience building connectors, plugins, integrations, or reusable components from scratch.

- Extensive practical usage of AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent tools.

- Ability to critically review and validate AI-generated code for correctness, security vulnerabilities, performance, and maintainability.

- Experience with application debugging, profiling, and performance optimization.

- Understanding of performance, load, scalability, and reliability testing.

- Experience with unit testing, integration testing, code reviews, and software quality practices.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a product engineering environment.

- Good communication, collaboration, and technical documentation skills.
