Position : Senior Project Manager Linguistics and AI Projects.

Location : Shillong (WFO).

Job Overview : The Senior Project Manager (SPM) will over see large-scale data annotation projects for NLP, NER, and Generative AI applications.

This leadership role involves managing complex, multi-faceted projects from inception through completion, ensuring high-quality outcomes in alignment with client specifications.

The SPM will collaborate with global teams of linguists, annotators, and engineers to deliver critical datasets for machine learning models, while driving strategic planning, quality assurance, and process optimization.

The ideal candidate will bring advanced project management experience, deep linguistic and AI knowledge, and strong leadership abilities.

Key Responsibilities :

- Project Leadership : Lead the entire lifecycle of large-scale data annotation projects, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables within scope, budget,and deadlines.

- Team Management : Build and manage global teams of linguists, annotators, and engineers, providing mentorship and fostering collaboration and innovation.

- Client Engagement : Serve as the primary point of contact for enterprise clients, understanding project requirements, managing expectations, and ensuring satisfaction with deliverables.

- Strategic Planning : Develop detailed project plans, timelines, risk management strategies, and resource allocation frameworks for seamless project execution.

- Quality Assurance : Oversee the development of annotation guidelines, quality control frameworks, and feedback mechanisms to ensure high data quality standards are met.

- Process Optimization : Identify and implement process improvements to achieve faster, more efficient, and cost-effective project outcomes.

- Stakeholder Management : Collaborate with cross-functional teams(e.g., product managers, linguists) to ensure alignment of project goals with organizational objectives.

- Innovation : Stay informed about developments in Generative AI and NLP, integrating new tools and methodologies into project workflows.

Skill & Competency Requirements :

- Demonstrated experience leading global teams and managing large-scale projects.

- Exceptional communication skills (CEFR Cl or higher English proficiency), with the ability to manage diverse teams and interact with clients effectively.

- Deep understanding of linguistic concepts, corpus annotation, and data annotation techniques for machine learning.

- Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.)

- Proficiency in annotation tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications & Experience : Master's or Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, or a related field.

- Certification in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile PM, or equivalent).

- 7+ years of project management experience, including 5+ years focused on data annotation, NLP, NER, and Generative AI.

Language Requirements :

Native or near-native proficiency in at least one language other than English preferred.
