About the Role :

The IIS Web Server Administrator will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and securing Microsoft IIS environments across multiple servers. The role requires expertise in IIS administration, SSL/TLS configuration, Windows Server management, and performance monitoring. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, security, and performance of web applications in production and staging environments.

Key Responsibilities (KRAs) :

- Administer and maintain Microsoft IIS Web Servers (IIS 8/8.5/10/above) ensuring high availability and reliability.

- Configure, install, and manage SSL/TLS certificates and handle HTTPS setup across multiple environments.

- Perform Windows Server administration including patching, upgrades, and configuration (2016/2019/2022).

- Troubleshoot IIS-related issues using logs, Event Viewer, and network tracing tools such as Wireshark and Fiddler.

- Implement reverse proxy, load balancing, and CDN integration for web application optimization.

- Monitor performance and system health using tools like SCOM, Splunk, SolarWinds, or Dynatrace.

- Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell, VBScript, or Batch scripting.

- Ensure application and server security through web server hardening and compliance with security standards.

- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams for application deployment and issue resolution.

- Maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and incident resolutions.

- Participate in on-call rotation and support production systems during critical windows.

Required Skillsets :

- Strong experience in IIS Web Server administration and troubleshooting.

- In-depth knowledge of Windows Server OS (2016/2019/2022).

- Expertise in SSL/TLS certificate management and HTTPS configuration.

- Solid understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS).

- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and server management.

- Familiarity with reverse proxy and load balancing solutions.

- Experience with performance monitoring tools such as SCOM, Splunk, SolarWinds, or Dynatrace.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for root cause analysis.

- Good understanding of web application security and server hardening practices.

- Excellent communication and documentation skills.

- Willingness to work in extended shifts covering 4 :30 PM 8 :30 AM IST.

Preferred Certifications :

- Microsoft Certified : Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or Security Operations Analyst.

- ITIL Foundation Certification.

- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (preferred for SecOps environments).
