Job Description :

We are searching for our office in Chennai, India a Data Engineer with a university degree in computer science or mathematics and a proven working experience in requirement analysis and building and maintaining data systems (SQL or NO-SQL) of minimum 5 years. Experience gained during the development of the Master's or PhD projects and thesis will be positively taken into account.

Key Responsibilities :

- Documenting business needs on data analysis and reporting and then developing BI systems, reports, and dashboards to support them; also working to acquire and integrate data from heterogeneous data sources in such BI systems.

- Supporting and assisting customers who utilise our products or its developed integration solutions.

- Creating data pipelines, big data platforms and data integrations in databases, data warehouses and data lakes, working with various cloud and on-premises technologies.

- Gathering and analysing data from databases and other data sources, running machine learning algorithms and predictive models; proposing and creating effective data visualisations for business users.

- Designing and implementing database systems, data models and other data architecture components; also evaluating and recommending purchases of data management technologies.

Required Technical Skills :

- Excellent knowledge about databases, multidimensional databases, data warehouse designing, concepts and methodologies

- Excellent knowledge of the SQL language and fluency with development, profiling, and optimization tools

- Capable of data and web service integration, working familiarity with a variety of databases (MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle) and database replication (snapshot, mirroring, transactional) tools

- Education in statistics, machine learning, data cleansing, data visualization,

- Activities performed in data visualization and reporting

- Good knowledge in programming languages (Python, Java, C#),

- Proven experience with cloud computing tools, preferably Azure, AWS,

- Proven experience with a wide variety of data and web technologies, both in the cloud and on premises

- Knowledge or previous experience in the logistics and marine terminals industry is considered a great advantage

Additional Technical Profile :

- T-SQL and SQL coding, OLAP and dimensional modelling

- ETL process, building data pipelines, data APIs

- Change Data Capture (CDC) technique knowledge for near real-time data-driven applications

- Big data tools (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka)

- Data warehouse (Azure, Amazon Redshift, Snowflake)

- Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and SQL Server Reporting Services

- Experience in linear optimisation algorithms design and programming

- Previous experience or knowledge of the logistics industry, container terminal operations, and TOS systems is considered a great advantage.

Other Skills :

- Independent when working on assigned tasks.

- Ready to work in small team and share his/her knowledge with the group.

- Required Languages : fluent English.
