Job Description

Position Overview :

We are seeking an experienced IDC Progress Consultant to lead the design, development, and support of Progress OpenEdge 4GL-based Financial Management Systems.

This hybrid role, based in Bangalore, involves close collaboration with IT and Finance teams to deliver stable and scalable enterprise solutions.


Key Responsibilities :


- Architect, configure, develop, deploy, and maintain Progress OpenEdge RDBMS-based financial systems.


- Collaborate with internal IT and finance teams to gather requirements and execute implementations.

- Investigate and resolve system issues, perform routine enhancements, and ensure system performance.

- Conduct system monitoring and support patch deployments and upgrades.

- Maintain comprehensive documentation including configuration logs, test scripts, and user manuals.


Required Qualifications & Experience :


- 512 years of hands-on experience with Progress OpenEdge 4GL and RDBMS on Microsoft Windows Server.


Proficiency in :

a, Consuming web services

b. Integrating Microsoft Office with Progress 4GL

c. Fathom Replication implementation

d. Installing and monitoring Progress RDBMS

- Strong understanding of financial processes such as Financial Reporting, Fixed Assets, Depreciation, and Asset Tracking.

- Experience integrating with Oracle Financials and SEPA banking systems.

- Solid documentation and written communication skills.


Preferred Skills :


- Familiarity with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Jira.

- Knowledge of ITIL principles, especially Incident and Change Management.

- Background in managed service or enterprise IT support environments
