IBM MQ Administrator

About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced IBM MQ Administrator with deep expertise in IBM Integration Bus (IIB)/App Connect Enterprise (ACE) and Middleware modernization to join our integration team.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in architectural planning, migration, and performance tuning of IBM MQ and IIB/ACE in both on-premises and cloud environments, including IBM Cloud Pak for Integration and Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (RH OCP).

This role requires strong technical skills in middleware integration, security implementation, and disaster recovery processes.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead architectural planning and execution of upgrade and migration strategies for IBM MQ and IIB to ACE and IBM Cloud Pak for Integration.

- Manage end-to-end lifecycle of IBM MQ and IIB/ACE middleware environments including installation, configuration, deployment, performance tuning, and administration.

- Design and implement Middleware modernization solutions aligning with best practices and organizational goals.

- Configure, deploy, and administer MQ clusters and RDQM (Replicated Data Queue Manager) for high availability and load balancing.

- Implement robust security measures within ACE and MQ environments including SSL, TLS, and authentication mechanisms.

- Integrate ACE with IBM MQ both on-premises and cloud platforms to ensure seamless messaging workflows.

- Handle network protocols such as HTTP, TCP/IP, SMTP, and SFTP within integration solutions.

- Lead MQ backup, recovery, and disaster recovery (DR) activities to ensure business continuity.

- Work closely with database teams to integrate IBM MQ and ACE with databases like DB2 and Oracle.

- Use tools such as RFUtil, MQ Explorer, Integration Toolkit, and version control systems like GitHub for managing middleware assets and codebase.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, QA, and infrastructure to support application integration and deployment.

- Monitor and troubleshoot middleware performance issues, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.

- Maintain documentation for middleware environments, processes, and configurations.

- Stay updated with the latest IBM MQ, IIB/ACE, and Cloud Pak releases, tools, and industry best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 6-12 years of hands-on experience in IBM MQ and IBM Integration Bus (IIB)/App Connect Enterprise (ACE) administration.

- Strong experience in planning and executing migrations and upgrades of IBM MQ and IIB to ACE and Cloud Pak platforms.

- Expertise in middleware integration, deployment, configuration, and performance tuning.

- In-depth knowledge of IBM Cloud Pak for Integration and Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (RH OCP).

- Experience managing MQ clusters and RDQM setups for high availability and workload balancing.

- Strong understanding of security protocols and implementation in middleware environments.

- Familiarity with network protocols including HTTP, TCP/IP, SMTP, SFTP, and others relevant to integration scenarios.

- Experience in backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes for MQ and IIB/ACE.

- Integration experience with databases such as DB2 and Oracle.

- Proficient in scripting for automation and operational tasks.

- Hands-on experience with MQ administration tools like RFUtil, MQ Explorer, and Integration Toolkit.

- Working knowledge of version control systems such as GitHub.

- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex middleware issues.
