About the Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. IBM DB2 Administrator with 5- 8 years of relevant experience in DB2 LUW administration. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in DB2 architecture, backup & restore, HADR, performance tuning, and replication setups.

You will be responsible for database administration, monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting to ensure seamless performance of mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities :

- Manage DB2 LUW architecture, installation, instance creation, and product setup.

- Create and maintain database objects (tables, indexes, views, tablespaces, stored procedures).

- Implement backup & restore strategies (online, offline, point-in-time recovery).

- Perform tablespace management, reorg (online/offline), and data movement utilities.

- Configure & maintain HADR for high availability and disaster recovery.

- Monitor database health using PD, TOP, and monitoring tools.

- Conduct performance tuning (DBM/DB parameters, query tuning using EXPLAIN/ADVISE).

- Handle redirect restores between servers and database upgrades/rollback plans.

- Implement replication setups (SQL & Q) for primary-to-standby environments.

- Troubleshoot issues related to logs, rollback segments, tablespaces, I/O errors, data corruption.

- Define naming conventions, data structures, storage parameters, and security rules.

- Estimate and recommend storage requirements.

- Apply patches, upgrades, and proactive monitoring to prevent outages.

- Support day-to-day database administration & performance optimization.
