Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced IBM API Connect professional to design, develop, secure, and manage enterprise-level API solutions. The role involves working closely with business stakeholders, architects, and development teams to build APIs, integrate backend services, manage lifecycle governance, and ensure high availability and performance of API services.

Key Responsibilities :

API Design & Development :

- Define API contracts using OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.

- Implement security policies (OAuth2.0, JWT, LDAP, SAML, TLS, API keys).

- Transform and orchestrate APIs using DataPower and mediation policies.

- Integrate APIs with backend systems (databases, microservices, ERP, cloud apps).

API Management & Administration :

- Configure and manage API Connect components : API Manager, Developer Portal, Analytics, Gateway (DataPower).

- Set up catalogs, spaces, organizations, and API Products for different environments (Dev, QA, Prod).

- Manage API lifecycle (creation, publishing, versioning, retirement).

- Monitor and troubleshoot API traffic, latency, and errors.

- Handle upgrades, patching, and maintenance of IBM API Connect platform.

Required Skills & Experience :

- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, SOAP, JSON, XML, YAML, OpenAPI/Swagger.

- Experience with IBM DataPower Gateway configuration and policies.

- Security implementation expertise : OAuth2.0, OIDC, JWT, SAML, LDAP integration.

- Experience with API monetization, rate limiting, throttling, and analytics.

- Proficiency in DevOps CI/CD (Git, Jenkins, UrbanCode, Tekton, Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift).

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, GCP) and hybrid deployments.

- Strong troubleshooting skills with logs, tracing, and performance monitoring.

- Good understanding of microservices architecture and event-driven integration (Kafka, MQ).
