Job Title : Hyperion Planning & Essbase Consultant

Experience Required : 69 years (G5) & 912 years (G6)

Contract Duration : 3 Months (Short-Term Contract)

Location Preference : Chennai (preferred) Other locations acceptable if suitable candidates not available in Chennai

Mode : Contract

Notice Period : Immediate joiners preferred

Key Responsibilities :

- Customize business rules, calculation scripts, and data load rules.

- Lead or support the upgrade process from older Hyperion versions to Essbase 12c.

- Ensure data integrity and continuity across the upgrade process.

- Develop and maintain Financial Reports (FR) and support integrations with Smart View.

- Create and manage web forms, dashboards, and ad hoc queries for financial analysis.

- Build and enhance scripts using MXL, Calc Manager, and Unix shell scripting to automate data

loads, calculations, and maintenance tasks.

- Work in both Windows and Unix/Linux environments for deployment and support activities.

- Partner with finance teams to gather requirements and align Hyperion functionalities with business planning and budgeting processes.

- Work closely with IT to resolve system issues and ensure timely delivery of enhancements.

- Support all phases of the project lifecycle including User Acceptance Testing (UAT), go-live, and post-deployment support.

- Troubleshoot and resolve performance, access, and integration issues during and after deployment.

Must-Have Skills :

- Strong hands-on experience in Hyperion Planning and Essbase application development and administration.

- Proven experience in Essbase upgrades, especially to version 12c.

- Proficiency in developing reports using Smart View and Financial Reporting (FR).

- Experience with MXL scripting, Calc scripts, and Unix shell scripting.

- Strong knowledge of Windows and Unix/Linux environments.

- Solid understanding of financial systems, forecasting, budgeting, and corporate planning processes.

- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.

- Strong communication skills to coordinate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Exposure to other Oracle EPM modules (e.g., PBCS, HFM, DRM).

- Experience in Agile or hybrid project delivery methodologies.

- Previous experience in short-term engagements or support-based contracts.
