Job Description

Role Overview :

The Network & Infrastructure Administrator will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and securing enterprise-grade IT infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.


This includes the deployment, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of network systems, servers, virtualization platforms, and core infrastructure applications.


The role demands strong technical acumen, hands-on operational expertise, and the ability to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of IT systems supporting business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Infrastructure Operations & Maintenance :

- Manage daily operations of the enterprise infrastructure including servers, storage, virtualization, and network components.

- Perform system upgrades, patching, and performance tuning to ensure stability and security.

- Support IT infrastructure systems such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, email systems (Exchange On-Prem and Online), and file servers.

- Ensure adherence to established configuration, backup, and security policies.

- Maintain and troubleshoot network connectivity, hardware failures, and system outages with minimal supervision.

2. Network Administration :

- Configure and maintain network devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN appliances.

- Implement network segmentation, VLANs, routing protocols, and access control lists in line with organizational security standards.

- Monitor and analyze network performance, capacity, and traffic patterns using tools such as LAN Sweeper, Panorama (Palo Alto), and Aruba Controllers.

- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to enforce firewall policies, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection measures.

3. Virtualization & Cloud Systems :

- Manage VMware vSphere, vCenter, and virtual machine lifecycle management across hybrid environments.

- Support Azure-based cloud services including Azure AD, Intune, and cloud-based storage or compute resources.

- Implement and maintain split DNS configurations and hybrid connectivity between on-prem and cloud environments.

- Participate in server provisioning, patch management, and automation efforts using PowerShell, Ansible, or equivalent tools.

4. Security & Compliance :

- Implement network and system hardening measures in accordance with best practices and audit requirements.

- Conduct regular infrastructure audits to ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.

- Support identity and access management through tools like CyberArk and LastPass.

- Assist in security incident response and vulnerability remediation activities using tools like Rapid7, Bitsight, and Security Scorecard.

5. Monitoring, Troubleshooting & Documentation

- Monitor system health and network performance, identifying and resolving issues proactively.

- Utilize monitoring tools and dashboards to detect anomalies and perform root-cause analysis.

- Document system configurations, network topologies, and troubleshooting procedures in Confluence or similar platforms.

- Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours infrastructure support (approximately every 6 months for 2-week rotations).

6. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

- Work closely with cross-functional IT teams to ensure smooth infrastructure operations.

- Contribute to modernization initiatives such as cloud migrations, automation, and infrastructure-as-code.

- Provide input for improving operational efficiency, technology adoption, and process optimization.

Required Technical Skills :

Core Infrastructure :

- Windows Server Administration (2016/2019/2022)

- Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, WSUS

- Virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V)

- Storage systems: NetApp / ONTAP, Dell/IBM/HP servers

Networking :

- Cisco and Aruba networking hardware

- Palo Alto Firewalls and Panorama management

- Load Balancers and WAN optimization

- IPAM and Split DNS management

Cloud & Endpoint Management :

- Microsoft Azure administration, Intune, and M365 Admin Center

- Endpoint security: Defender, BitLocker, McAfee, JAMF Protect, JAMF Threat Defense

- Patch management using WSUS, Patch My PC, Recast RCT

Automation & Scripting :

- PowerShell scripting for administrative automation

- Familiarity with Ansible for certificate management and configuration

- Experience with monitoring and reporting tools (SSRS, Excel, LAN Sweeper)

Database & Application Support :

- SQL Server and Oracle database administration basics

- Application integrations and troubleshooting with Exchange, SharePoint, and Proofpoint

Qualifications & Experience :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

- 23 years of hands-on experience as a Network Administrator or Infrastructure Administrator.

- Proven experience in managing enterprise IT systems, networks, and hybrid infrastructure environments.

- Knowledge of ITIL-based service management and change control processes preferred.
