Overview :
The Manager Data Operations oversees the reliability performance and secure delivery of enterprise data across the organizations analytics and data platforms. This role leads day?to-day operations and continuous improvement activities including ingestion integration orchestration monitoring and lifecycle management to ensure trusted timely data delivery.
The Manager Data Operations directs a team focused on operational support automation and reliability engineering while partnering with business analytics governance security and IT stakeholders to maintain a stable well-governed platform that supports rapid insights and innovation.
Responsibilities :
- Own the enterprise DataOps strategy for Microsoft Fabric setting SLAs operational standards and best practices while ensuring disciplined CI/CD automation and release management across teams.
- Provide oversight of Microsoft Fabric platform operations (OneLake Lakehouse/Warehouse Pipelines Notebooks Power BI) ensuring effective workspace governance environment standards naming conventions and deployment practices.
- Ensure platform reliability through monitoring and observability strategies; lead incident response root-cause analysis and long-term remediation while maintaining operational readiness through runbooks and recovery plans.
- Partner with security compliance and data stewardship stakeholders to operationalize access controls governance and data quality practices within Fabric.
- Lead develop and mentor the DataOps team; drive continuous improvement through process standardization automation performance optimization and transparent communication of platform health risks and priorities to leadership.
- Contribute to and manage to approved budget. Collaborate with team members and cross departmental stakeholders in creation and coordination of mutual goals.
- Manage and lead the direction of executing department benchmarks protocols and objectives.
- Assess employee and team performance against established quality metrics; track team performance against established metrics and hold direct reports accountable for meeting defined performance standards; provide feedback to employees.
- Perform all Human Resources-related managerial functions and responsibilities associated with hiring compensation management employment relations and termination of employees.
- Develop team members; coach employees through their personal growth in: functional expertise communication skills and ability to effectively interact with clients and peers. Assist with identifying and developing future leaders.
- Operate as a thought leader among the team; contribute significantly to the overall growth and quality of the department.
- Serve as an escalation point for issues; provide guidance resolve issues as necessary and remove obstacles for team.
- Execute on the team's strategy and ensure team projects are completed within scope time cost and quality.
- Evaluate define and maintain the process and procedures used by team; Identify opportunities for process improvement and greater efficiency and serve as an advocate for change.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in related field.
- 5+ years in enterprise data architecture IT operations or platform engineering.
- Hands-on experience operating modern cloud data platforms preferably Microsoft Fabric and Azure analytics ecosystem.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric components including OneLake Pipelines/Data Factory Lakehouse/Warehouse Power BI deployment pipelines Git integration and CI/CD practices.
- Proven leadership experience managing production platforms and technical teams.
- Experience with enterprise change management and release governance.
- Demonstrated fiscal responsibility/accountability in managing budgets.
- Superior problem solving critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Superior collaboration skills applied successfully within a team as well as other areas.
