- CRM Customization : Architect and manage HubSpot custom objects, properties, and complex CRM data models to align precisely with specific business operations.
- UI Extensions : Develop custom HubSpot apps, CRM cards, and React-based UI extensions to surface external data and tailor the interface directly for our Sales and Service teams.
- CMS Development : Build custom HubSpot CMS modules, highly optimized themes, and dynamic web pages using HubL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Custom Code Actions : Write and maintain Custom Code Actions (JavaScript/Node.js) within HubSpot Operations Hub to handle complex business logic, lead routing, scoring models, and dynamic data transformations.
Integrations & API Management :
- API Development : Consume and build on top of HubSpots REST APIs (CRM, Engagements, Timeline Events, Webhooks) to architect bi-directional data syncs with third-party platforms (e.g., ERPs, proprietary databases, billing systems).
- Backend Services : Build Node.js backend services and serverless functions to manage OAuth flows, real-time data syncs, and event-driven triggers.
- Middleware : Utilize iPaaS solutions and middleware tools (e.g., Make, Zapier, n8n) for integrations where custom coding is not strictly required.
- Data Integrity : Own system data hygiene, ensuring accurate deduplication, field mapping, lifecycle stage management, and proactive error handling for sync failures.
- Troubleshooting : Act as the highest point of technical escalation for HubSpot-related bugs, performance bottlenecks, and API sync errors.
Technical Leadership & Strategy :
- Architecture & Review : Audit the current HubSpot setup, identify inefficiencies, and propose cleaner, scalable technical approaches.
- Mentorship : Guide and mentor junior developers or CRM admins, establish coding best practices, and conduct code reviews.
- Stakeholder Alignment : Collaborate with cross-functional leaders (Sales, Marketing, RevOps) to translate overarching business requirements into detailed technical specifications and seamless workflows.
Qualifications & Technical Requirements :
Must-Haves :
- Experience : 5+ years of hands-on software development experience, with at least 3+ years specifically focused on deep HubSpot development (not just admin configuration).
- Programming Languages : Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+) and Node.js for backend services and custom code actions.
- Frontend Skills : Solid grasp of HTML5, CSS3, HubL (HubSpot Markup Language), and framework experience (e.g., React.js) for building UI extensions.
- API Expertise : Extensive experience working with RESTful APIs, Webhooks and OAuth authentication.
- Version Control : Comfortable working via the terminal, using Git, and leveraging the HubSpot CLI for local development environments.
- Problem Solving : Ability to think strategically about the "big picture" of a tech stack while writing clean, maintainable, and secure code.
Nice-to-Haves :
- Certifications : HubSpot CMS for Developers I & II, Integrating with HubSpot I, or advanced RevOps/Admin certifications.
- Database Knowledge : Experience designing SQL/PostgreSQL schemas for data that lives outside HubSpot but requires bidirectional syncing.
- Cloud/Serverless : Familiarity with deploying serverless functions on AWS, Google Cloud, or Heroku to support external integrations.
