HP NonStop System Administrator

Job Description :

Core Technical Skillset :

- Experience with HP NonStop OS (NSK) Guardian and OSS environments

- Strong understanding of TACL (Tandem Advanced Command Language)

- Hands-on experience with Pathway, TMF (Transaction Management Facility), and OSS Shell

System Administration & Operations :

- Familiarity with ETINETs Backbox, VTCs and Tape Management

- NonStop system patching, software upgrades, and firmware maintenance

- Security management : Safeguard, LDAP, compliance controls

- Experience with CLIMs, Network and Storage

- System performance monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting

Database Management :

- Experience with data integrity and backup strategies.

- Understanding and support of pathways, VIEWPT, ASAP, EMS and other monitoring tools

High Availability & Disaster Recovery :

- Support for Disaster Recovery (DR) environments, replication technologies (e.g., Shadow base, RDF)

- Load balancing and failover strategies

Middleware & Utilities :

1. iTP WebServer, Certificate Renewals, Control & Compare

2. NonStop SQL/MP and SQL/MX

- Integration with other enterprise systems (e.g., MQ, HPE Operations Bridge, etc.)

Networking & Integration :

- Familiarity with TCP/IP protocols within NonStop context.

- Knowledge of Connect/IP, FTP, EXPAND networks

- Ability to troubleshoot network issues specific to NonStop systems.

Security :

- Familiarity with compliance standards relevant to NonStop environments.

Soft Skills / Experience :

- Familiarity with ITIL processes (change management, incident management)

- Excellent documentation and scripting abilities (TACL, OSS shell scripting)

- Strong communication skills (working with app teams, auditors, DR testing teams)

- Available for on-call rotation / off-hours support
