HID - Network Engineer - Fortigate Firewall

Profile Summary :

Duties and Responsibilities include the following :

To provide HID Global IT with technical support for the global network environment including assessment and implementation of new capabilities, upgrades etc.

This person will be a contributing member of the Global IT Infrastructure team. The position will be based in Chennai, India.

CCNP or CCIE is expected for this senior role.

Role & Responsibilities :

- 3+ years of experience working with production Network and Security enterprise environment.

- Hands-on experience in AWS and Oracle environment using Terraform.

- Hands-on experience in FortiGate Firewall policies, Proxy, UTM, Failover, Firewall virtual domains, Forti Switch, FortiAP.

- Manage and maintain the Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Wireless Controllers and Access points etc.

- Hands-on experience with LAN, WAN, VPN, and IPSec.

- Configuring and troubleshooting Site-2-Site and remote access VPN solution.

- Hands-on experience in NAT, PAT technologies.

- Strong Debugging level of knowledge in firewalls.

- Experience in Radius and Tacacs servers (FortiAuthenticator, Cisco ISE).

- Experience in routing and switching protocols like BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP, VRRP, STP, PVST, RSTP.

- Experience in Cisco Nexus 9K/2k, Catalyst 9k/4500/3800/2900 and Cisco Wireless LAN controllers.

- Hands on Experience in Forti Manager and Load balancers (On prem and cloud based).

- Hands on experience on automated network systems by developing and managing automation scripts (e., Python, Ansible).

- Work with the IT team to implement and test Disaster Recovery plan.

- Proficient with tools to collect network statistic utilizing protocols (SNMP, NetFlow, Wireshark, SolarWinds, Observium, etc.

- Hands-on experience in working with tools like Service Now, Jira, monitoring system, etc.

- Perform security audits, reviews and identify security gaps in architecture.

- Create and maintain operational process and technical documentation.

- Knowledge on global security standards.

- Be a part of on-call rotation once a month to support network and security infrastructure in weekend.

- CCNP or relevant vendor equivalent recognized certification preferred.

Language Skills :

- Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing.

- Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.
