HGS - Quality Engineer - TypeScript/Playwright Testing

We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer who is passionate about building reliable automation frameworks, ensuring product quality, and driving best practices in testing. The ideal candidate has strong experience with Playwright automation, MCP server integration, and solid programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript/Java/Python.

You will be working closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and execute automated test solutions for both UI and functional testing, ensuring seamless CI/CD integration and delivering high-quality releases.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright + MCP Server.

- Develop and manage test frameworks leveraging BDD (Cucumber/Gherkin) and POM (Page Object Model).

- Perform functional and UI testing across multiple platforms and devices.

- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to integrate tests within CI/CD pipelines (GitLab/GitHub).

- Debug issues, analyze test failures, and provide actionable insights to ensure high-quality delivery.

- Generate and maintain quality metrics, test reports, and dashboards for stakeholders.

- Ensure adherence to best practices in testing methodologies, test data management, and defect tracking.

- Contribute to AI Agentdriven test strategy for smarter and faster automation.

- Drive continuous improvements in automation efficiency, coverage, and scalability.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 5 to 8 years of experience in QA Automation.

- Strong programming experience in JavaScript/TypeScript/Java/Python.

- Hands-on expertise with Playwright and MCP Server.

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).

- Knowledge of version control systems (GitHub/GitLab).

- Familiarity with AI Agent testing or willingness to explore and integrate.

- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to design, implement, and execute functional and UI test cases.

- Solid understanding of test methodologies, processes, and reporting tools.

Good to Have :

- Banking knowledge or prior domain exposure.

- Exposure to performance/security testing.

- Experience mentoring junior QA engineers and driving QA best practices across teams.
