About the Role :

The Head of Product Engineering & Transformation will be responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of next-generation digital platforms and products that enable business growth, innovation, and client experiences. This is a senior leadership role aligned with the "Build the Business" mandate, focusing on building transformative digital capabilities for Emkays financial services verticals. This role is central to Emkays digital transformation journey. As Head of Product Engineering & Transformation, you will shape and deliver the foundational platforms that drive innovation, scalability, and growth across the firm's investment and advisory ecosystem.

Responsibilities :

Platform & Product Engineering :

- Lead development of cloud-native digital platforms (client portals, mobile apps, RM tools, APIs) and modernisation of the existing applications

- Architect scalable systems using modern frameworks (e.g., microservices, event-driven architecture).

- Own end-to-end SDLC from ideation to deployment.

Technology Innovation :

- Integrate AI/ML, data analytics, and automation into product experiences.

- Rapidly prototype and deliver new digital offerings in collaboration with business teams.

- Drive consistent improvements in digital customer and advisor journeys.

Engineering Leadership :

- Build and mentor a high-performance engineering team (internal + vendor).

- Institutionalise DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and agile delivery frameworks.

- Foster a strong engineering culture focused on quality, security, and velocity.

Collaboration & Strategy :

- Partner with Product, Data, InfoSec, Compliance, and Business stakeholders.

- Translate business requirements into technical strategy and transformation roadmaps.

- Support the CDTO in executing the "Tech First" and innovation agenda. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement strategies for continuous improvement.

- Represent the team in meetings with senior management, and partner with CDTO & CISO to lead the strategy and execution for the enterprise.

- Vendor Management & negotiation skills on multiple projects/initiatives.

Qualifications :

- B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science or related field; MBA is a plus.

- 15+ years of experience in technology, with 5+ years leading product or platform engineering teams.

- Experience in NBFC/Broking or fintech product/platform development strongly preferred.

- Deep knowledge of full-stack and cloud-native technologies (AWS/Azure/GCP).

- Hands-on understanding of data engineering, APIs, mobile frameworks, and security best practices.

- Familiarity with modern delivery practices : Agile, Scrum, DevOps, product thinking.

- Passion for transforming traditional systems into modern, customer-centric platforms.

Bonus Points :

- Familiarity with SQL Server and Design/architectural patterns like MVC

- Familiarity with APIs (REST, RPC), JSON, XML, Web Services, Ajax, .Net

- Added advantage if knowledge of JQUERY, JAVASCRIPT, PHP, SharePoint, My-SQL, PS-SQL
