Head of Product Engineering

About the Role :

We're looking for a Head of Engineering to lead our Product Engineering organization, building core capabilities for our enterprise workflow and service management platform. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can operate at both the strategic and technical level : setting engineering direction, scaling teams, embedding AI into both our product and our engineering practices, and ensuring we ship secure, reliable software that enterprise customers depend on every day.

You'll own engineering execution for one or more major product lines, with end-to-end accountability for architecture, delivery, AI-driven capabilities, and security across the products you lead.

What You'll Do :

- Lead and grow multiple product engineering teams (managers, tech leads, and ICs) spanning backend platform services, workflow automation, and integrations

- Own delivery : translate product strategy into technical roadmaps, break down large initiatives, and ensure predictable, high-quality shipping

- Drive engineering excellence - code quality, testing, observability, incident response, and on-call practices - appropriate for a platform with enterprise SLAs

- Scale architecture decisions for a multi-tenant SaaS platforms, balancing performance, reliability, extensibility, and cost

- Set direction for embedding AI/ML and generative AI into the product (intelligent workflow recommendations, virtual agents, predictive automation) and drive adoption of AI-assisted engineering tools to improve team velocity and quality

- Own secure-by-design engineering practices - threat modeling, secure code review, dependency security, and compliance with certifications such as SOC 2, ISO 27001 and regulations

- Recruit, mentor, and develop engineering managers and senior engineers; build a strong bench of technical leadership

- Establish and track engineering metrics (velocity, quality, uptime, incident MTTR) and report on them to executive leadership

- Foster a culture of ownership, technical rigor, and continuous improvement across the org

What We're Looking For :

- 15+ years in software engineering, including 6+ years in engineering management, with experience managing managers across teams of 50+ engineers

- Track record leading product engineering for a B2B SaaS product at enterprise scale - ideally workflow automation, ITSM, CRM, or platform/PaaS products

- Deep understanding of distributed systems, multi-tenant architecture, API design, and platform scalability

- Experience with low-code/no-code platform architecture or workflow engines

- Hands-on exposure to applying AI/ML or generative AI in a production SaaS product, and a point of view on where AI creates real customer value versus hype

- A genuine security mindset - comfortable owning security outcomes for the org, not just delegating to a security team; familiarity with India's DPDP Act and CERT-In compliance landscape is a strong plus

- Strong track record of hiring, developing, and retaining engineering talent, including building teams from the ground up

- Comfortable balancing hands-on technical judgment with organizational and people leadership

- Excellent communication skills - able to translate technical trade-offs for executives, customers, and non-technical stakeholders

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field from a recognized institution, or equivalent practical experience

Nice to Have :

- Background building or scaling AI/ML platform teams, including MLOps and LLM infrastructure

- Prior experience running a global capability center (GCC) or India engineering practice for a multinational SaaS company

- Security certifications (CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent) or close partnership history with CISO organizations

- Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns (REST, Webhooks, API gateways)
