About the Role :

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of Engineering to lead our software development center in Gurgaon. This role is pivotal in shaping our enterprise architecture, driving modern software engineering practices, and embedding DevSecOps across the organization. You will be responsible for building scalable, secure, and high-performance systems that power our digital insurance platforms.

Key Responsibilities :

Leadership & Strategy :

- Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team of 150+ professionals.

- Define and execute the engineering strategy aligned with the companys digital transformation goals.

- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Enterprise Architecture :

- Own and evolve the enterprise architecture to support scalability, agility, and resilience.

- Ensure alignment between business goals and technology architecture.

- Drive adoption of microservices, APIs, cloud-native architectures, and event-driven systems.

Software Engineering Excellence :

- Establish and enforce best practices in software development, testing, and deployment.

- Champion agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and test automation.

- Ensure high code quality, performance, and maintainability across all products.

DevSecOps & Security :

- Integrate security into every phase of the software development lifecycle.

- Implement DevSecOps practices to ensure secure, compliant, and auditable systems.

- Collaborate with InfoSec and compliance teams to meet regulatory requirements (e.g., IRDAI).

People & Delivery Management :

- Build and scale engineering teams with a focus on talent development and retention.

- Oversee project delivery, resource planning, and performance management.

- Drive engineering KPIs such as velocity, quality, uptime, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications & Experience :

- 15+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

- Proven experience in leading large-scale engineering teams (100+ people).

- Strong background in enterprise architecture, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and modern tech stacks.

- Deep understanding of DevSecOps, agile delivery, and secure coding practices.

- Experience in BFSI or insurance domain is highly desirable.
