Head of Engineering - Cloud Platform

Opening : VP/Senior Solution Architect/Head of Engineering for a leading IT Consulting Company at Chennai Location.

Position : VP/Senior Solution Architect/Head of Engineering.

Exp : 17-25 years.

Location : Chennai.

Reporting To : CTO / CEO.

Function : Technology Leadership.

Type : Full-Time | Executive Level.

Key Responsibilities :

- Shape and evolve multi-domain technology roadmap.

- Lead enterprise architecture initiatives across cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), data platforms, AI/ML, security, and application layers.

- Champion modern, scalable, secure, and future-ready platforms using microservices, event-driven architecture, and API-first designs.

- Lead and mentor distributed engineering teams across geographies and domains.

- Establish high-performance engineering practices including Agile, CI/CD, DevSecOps, SRE, and container-based infrastructure.

- Foster a culture of excellence, ownership, and continuous innovation with robust observability and DevOps at scale.

- Collaborate with business, product, and sales teams to design solutions that solve real-world problems.

- Ensure architectural consistency, scalability, and resilience across projects and domains.

Experience Required :

- 17 to 25 years of progressive experience in technology roles.

- At least 7+ years in senior/executive leadership positions.

- Demonstrated success in scaling engineering teams, driving platform-led transformations, and leading enterprise-scale architecture.

- Proven leadership across multiple industriesideally FinTech, HealthTech, Retail, or Industrial/Manufacturing.

Skills Stack :

- Cloud Platforms : AWS, Azure, GCP.

- Architecture & Design : Microservices, APIs, Event-Driven Architecture.

- Data & AI/ML : Data platforms, machine learning, analytics infrastructure.

- DevOps & Operations : CI/CD, DevSecOps, SRE, Containers (Docker/Kubernetes), Observability tools.

- Methodologies : Agile, Lean, XP, and innovation delivery at speed.

Education Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (required).

- Masters degree preferred.

- Patents, research publications, or open-source contributions are a strong plus.

- Prior experience in high-growth, startup-to-scale-up environments is highly desirable.
