We are seeking an experienced engineering leader who can own and scale our platform engineering charter. This role is 80% platform (APIs, infra, data ingestion, risk/fraud systems) and 20% application (customer-facing interfaces and partner integrations). You will lead a high-performing team of engineers, shape architecture for high-scale transactional systems, and ensure compliance with BFSI-grade security standards while driving innovation at the intersection of data, APIs, and infrastructure.

Responsibilities :

- Architect and Scale Platforms : Design, build, and optimize API-first, transaction-heavy platforms capable of handling high concurrency and low latency.

- Data Infrastructure : Oversee large-scale data ingestion pipelines, ensuring availability, resilience, and efficiency.

- Risk and Compliance Systems : Implement fraud detection, risk management, and security-first architecture with BFSI-grade compliance (SOC2 ISO, GDPR, RBI guidelines).

- Engineering Leadership : Grow, mentor, and lead the engineering team from 12 25+, fostering a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and innovation.

- Technology Ownership : Make key decisions on cloud infra (AWS/GCP/Azure), containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), observability, and scalability.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with the CTO, CEO, and product leaders to translate business needs into technical solutions.

- Best Practices : Drive adoption of engineering excellence - CI/CD, testing automation, monitoring, incident management, and DevOps practices.

Requirements :

- Proven leadership in backend/platform engineering (Head/Director/VP level).

- Experience designing and scaling high-scale, API-first transactional systems.

- Deep expertise in distributed systems, event-driven architecture (Kafka, Pulsar, etc. ), and microservices.

- Strong infra background : cloud-native, Kubernetes/Docker, observability/monitoring systems.

- Hands-on with fraud detection, risk systems, or secure infrastructure.

- BFSI or fintech security and compliance experience (PCI DSS, ISO 27001 SOC2 GDPR, RBI).

- Demonstrated success in hiring, scaling, and mentoring engineering teams.
