Role Overview :

The Assistant Vice President - Application will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of production support, release management, and operational stability of critical business applications. This role demands deep technical expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage customer-facing, mobile, and financial applications in a regulated environment. The incumbent will ensure high availability, compliance, and continuous service improvement while coordinating closely with development, infrastructure, and business teams.

Key Responsibilities :

Production Support & Application Stability :

- Own production support for assigned applications, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.

- Provide advanced troubleshooting for customer-facing, mobile, and finance applications.

- Act as a key member of war rooms for critical incidents, driving root cause analysis and permanent fixes.

- Track and manage resolution of all open incidents, problems, and service requests.

Release & Change Management :

- Manage release management activities, ensuring builds are ring-fenced with appropriate approvals, testing, and validations before production deployment.

- Conduct pre-production testing and validate release readiness.

- Ensure adherence to change, release, and deployment governance frameworks.

Service Management & Continuous Improvement :

- Define, measure, and report key service-level metrics (SLAs, MTTR, incident trends).

- Drive continuous improvement of incident, problem, change, and knowledge management processes.

- Perform trend analysis to improve service timeliness, system stability, and cost efficiency.

Stakeholder & Knowledge Management :

- Build and maintain strong relationships with IT, development, infrastructure, security, and business teams.

- Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions from application development teams for new releases and enhancements.

- Ensure documentation, runbooks, and operational knowledge are current and accessible.

Compliance, Audit & Risk Management :

- Manage RBI audits, regulatory compliance, and internal/external audit queries related to production environments.

- Ensure compliance with BCP/DR planning, testing, and execution.

- Support governance activities including POs, vendor agreements, and compliance documentation.

Mandatory Skills & Experience :

- Extensive experience in Production Support for enterprise-grade applications.

- Proven experience supporting customer-facing, mobile, and finance / digital lending applications.

- Strong hands-on expertise with Oracle / SQL, database troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

- Deep understanding of application stack, server-side technologies, and system architecture.

- Strong knowledge of networking concepts, firewalls, clustering, and high-availability setups.

- Hands-on experience with Sharp troubleshooting tools or equivalent monitoring/diagnostic tools.

- Strong experience in digital lending / lending platforms support.

- Demonstrated experience handling RBI audits, regulatory compliance, and audit closures.

- Experience managing POs, vendor contracts, and agreements.

Education & Experience :

- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

- 10- 14 years of total IT experience

- Minimum 6-8 years in Production Support / Application Support roles

- Prior experience in BFSI / FinTech / Digital Lending environments is mandatory
