About the Role :

As a System Architect - Telematics you take the role of the technical lead for the system architecture of one or several development projects in telematics project and/or products.

In your role you are acting as a Go-To Person for architectural and cross-disciplinary topics within RFIs, RFQs and during product development, and you are interconnecting the technical team with sales, program management and the customer.

Your Team :

The System Architect will report to the System Engineering Director and will typically be assigned to multiple projects.

This position does not have any direct reports.

What You Will Do :

- Definition and specification of the system architectural design for connectivity or telematics systems based on project/product requirements.

- Presentation of the system, hardware, and software concepts during the RFI/RFQ phase and after award internally (towards the development team) as well as towards the customer.

- Leading technical presentations / workshops internally and externally.

- Analysis and evaluation of functional and non-functional requirements affecting the system architecture and system resources.

- Development of high-level and detailed concepts on system-level incl related specifications.

- Development of architectural designs and concepts considering cybersecurity and functional safety aspects.

- Close collaboration with the discipline responsible (software, hardware, mechanics, manufacturing).

- Guidance and support of the software and hardware architects and developers to realize the architectural requirements, including verification of work results.

- Analyze the stakeholder requirements (incl. relevant regulations, standards, and norms) to capture clearly and concisely what is required for the project or product.

- Work with System Requirement Engineers to define and groom of system requirements specs incl. writing high-quality requirements.

What You Need to be Successful :

- Knowledge of the requirements inside the automotive area.

Understanding of the dynamics of the automotive Tier-1 market and a vision for market and customer trends.

- Professional experience in architecture definition and development of systems for infotainment, digital cockpit, driver information and/or ADAS.

- Professional experience in architecture or developing algorithms.

- Experience in robotics, embedded engine control & management systems.

- Experience with embedded operating systems (e.g. , QNX, Linux, Android).

- Enhanced skills in using modelling tools (UML / SysML).

- Enhanced skills in using model-based system engineering methodologies.

- Knowledge/experience in A-SPICE processes (especially SYS Process groups).

What is Nice to Have :

- Fluent English skills and exceptional communication skills.

- Understanding of UML and/or SW architecture concepts.

- Understanding of embedded systems.

- Technical understanding and familiarity with continuous build and version control systems.

- Experience in the automotive industry or Automotive SPICE.

- Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2 or related certification is a plus.
