Role Overview:

As a Lead - Scala, you will spearhead the design and development of robust, scalable, and high-performance backend systems. This role involves close collaboration with product managers, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions for our clients. Your contributions will directly impact the reliability and efficiency of critical applications, driving significant value for our customers and enhancing their digital capabilities. Key Responsibilities:

- Architect and implement complex, high-throughput microservices and distributed systems using Scala and Akka, ensuring optimal performance and resilience for client applications.

- Lead and mentor a team of talented engineers, providing technical guidance, conducting code reviews, and fostering best practices in software development and functional programming.

- Collaborate closely with product management and solution architects to translate business requirements into robust technical designs and scalable system architectures.

- Drive the adoption of cloud-native principles and leverage AWS services for deployment, monitoring, and scaling of applications, optimizing infrastructure costs and operational efficiency.

- Design, develop, and maintain well-documented RESTful APIs, ensuring seamless integration with front-end applications and third-party services.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the software stack, ensuring high availability and reliability of production systems for end-users.

- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and technologies, staying abreast of industry trends in Scala, Java, and related ecosystems.

Required Skillset:

Candidates should possess 5 - 15 years of progressive experience in software development, with a significant focus on Scala-based systems.

- Demonstrated expertise in Scala and functional programming paradigms, coupled with strong proficiency in Java for enterprise-grade applications.

- Extensive experience building highly concurrent, fault-tolerant, and resilient systems using Akka, Akka Streams, or similar reactive frameworks.

- Proven ability to design, develop, and consume RESTful APIs, ensuring seamless integration and data exchange across services.

- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, including services like EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, SQS, and Kinesis for deploying and managing scalable applications.

- Familiarity with Python for scripting, data processing, automation, or complementary service development is a plus.

- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, with a track record of guiding engineering teams and fostering a culture of technical excellence.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field from a reputable institution.

- This role is based in Bangalore, requiring a commitment to an on-site or hybrid work model.
