Role Summary :
We are looking for a quality-driven Guidewire PolicyCenter QA Engineer to join our Guidewire delivery practice. This role demands in-depth testing experience across PolicyCenter modules and a solid understanding of Guidewires data model, integration architecture, and policy transactions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, reliable, and robust PolicyCenter implementations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and execute functional, regression, and integration testing for Guidewire PolicyCenter implementations across various LOBs (Lines of Business).
- Review and interpret business requirements, BRDs, functional specifications, and technical documentation to derive test scenarios and ensure test coverage.
- Design, develop, and execute detailed manual and automated test cases for PolicyCenter workflows, UI, business rules, and integrations.
- Validate rating logic, underwriting rules, and policy lifecycle events (Quote, Bind, Issue, Endorsement, Renewal, Cancellation, etc.).
- Perform backend data validation using complex SQL queries across multiple database schemas and integration layers.
- Conduct web services and API-level testing (REST/SOAP), particularly for edge integrations with external systems.
- Log, triage, and track defects using enterprise tools such as JIRA, HP ALM, or similar platforms.
- Work in Agile Scrum teams, actively participating in daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews.
- Ensure readiness of QA environments, test data creation, and test environment configurations before execution cycles.
- Contribute to QA process optimization, risk identification, and quality metric reporting across the SDLC.
Required Qualifications & Technical Skills :
- 3+ years of QA experience with a strong focus on Guidewire PolicyCenter (v9 or higher).
- In-depth knowledge of PolicyCenter architecture, product model, user screens, activities, and job workflows.
- Proficient in SQL for backend data verification and experience working with complex relational databases.
- Hands-on experience with API testing using Postman, SoapUI, or similar tools.
- Solid understanding of Guidewire integration testing, including messaging, web services, and batch jobs.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and iterative development practices.
- Proficient with tools such as JIRA, Xray, qTest, or HP ALM for defect tracking and test management.
Preferred / Nice to Have Skills :
- Experience in test automation using Selenium, Cucumber, TestNG, or equivalent frameworks.
- Exposure to other Guidewire modules such as BillingCenter or ClaimCenter.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar DevOps toolchains.
- Understanding of policy lifecycle in commercial or personal lines insurance domain.
- ISTQB or relevant testing certifications are a plus.
