Requirements for the candidate :

Required Skills :

- 5+ years of experience in software testing and test automation.

- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript.

- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript.

- Experience bringing an existing automation framework to maturity.

- Strong understanding of test automation framework design patterns : Page Object Model, dependency injection, API-first test setup.

- API and REST test automation written in code within the test framework.

- Good understanding of SQL and database validation.

- Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or Jenkins.

- Experience with version control systems, Git in particular.

- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Preferred Skills :

- Protobuf exposure, and message-broker testing with MQTT.

- Knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

- Data migration testing.

- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.

- Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.

AI-Enabled Testing :

- Use AI-assisted tools to speed up test creation, regression analysis, and defect identification.

- Promote responsible and governed use of AI within test automation practices.

Candidate responsibilities :

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and maintain automated test scripts within an existing Playwright and TypeScript framework.

- Build API-level regression tests and validate backend services, including database state checks.

- Extend coverage to UI user journeys across the Angular web and Electron desktop surfaces.

- Build and maintain dual-environment parity tests, asserting the modernised path against the captured legacy baseline.

- Collaborate closely with developers, product owners and the clients QA engineers to understand requirements and ensure quality deliverables.

- Keep automated suites running reliably in CI so they can gate merges.

- Analyse test results, triage failures before re-running them, identify defects and work with the owning development teams to resolve them.

- Improve test coverage, execution efficiency and overall product quality.

- Participate in code reviews and promote automation best practices.

- Participate in the teams Agile ceremonies : planning, backlog grooming, reviews and retrospectives.

- Prepare test reports, metrics and in-repo documentation.
