Key Responsibilities :
- Design, build and maintain Grafana dashboards and visualizations leveraging time series data from Prometheus, Loki, OpenTelemetry, InfluxDB, Elasticsearch, etc.
- Develop and manage observability stack components, including setting up containers, metrics, logs, APM, RUM, distributed tracing, synthetic monitoring, and test automation telemetry ingestion.
- Create and maintain custom data exporters and integrations, including bespoke collectors for metrics and logs.
- Configure custom alerts and monitoring workflows, SLIs/SLOs, and alerts-driven AIOps pipelines for complex environments.
- Enable multi-tenancy support and enforce data segregation on shared infrastructure.
- Integrate Grafana through APIs with other systems (e.g., IAM, telemetry ingestion, CI/CD pipelines).
- Collaborate closely with DevOps, backend, SRE, and platform teams to ensure reliable deployment, observability, and scalability.
Skills & Tools Required :
- Grafana, Prometheus, Grafana Loki (or Logstash/Fluent Bit) expertise
- Experience with container platforms (e.g. OpenShift, Kubernetes) and configuring multi tenant environments
- Scripting or programming in Python, Java, Ansible, Bash or similar for automation and integration
- Strong skills in alerting, metrics/pipeline engineering, and dashboard design for production observability
Experience & Qualifications :
- Typically 5+ years of experience in observability/monitoring engineering using Grafana and Prometheus in production settings
- Proven experience building custom exporters, integrations, and dashboards for multi-environment setups
- Experience working with public cloud managed Grafana offerings is beneficial
- Strong understanding of SLIs, SLOs, and operational metrics-based workflows
Preferred Attributes :
- Hands-on experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes private cloud infrastructure
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Ansible), and API-based system integration workflows
- Experience with setting up synthetic monitoring, test frameworks, and integrating test telemetry into dashboards
