Role - GCP Engineer

Job Description :

1. Platform Management & Operations :

- Oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and health of the QE Tooling platform, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.

- Monitor the platform's health and performance using GCP logging and monitoring tools.

- Regularly verify GKE cluster health, K8s pods, and overall GCP console service health.

2. Deployment & Release Management :

- Manage and execute application deployments through CI/CD pipelines, including merging release candidates to the main branch and verifying pipeline triggers.

- Oversee database schema creation and migration processes (Postgres DBaaS), initiating and monitoring relevant pipelines.

3. Troubleshooting & Support :

- Provide expert-level support, diagnosing and resolving complex issues related to GCP, GKE, and database connectivity.

- Investigate and resolve integration issues with external systems like Secret Manager, storage buckets, and DBaaS by reviewing application logs.

- Collaborate with Cloud DB Ops and Cloud Platforms teams for advanced support needs.

4. User Enablement & Collaboration :

- Facilitate user onboarding and manage project creation/allocation for GCP/GKE access.

- Work closely with Quality Engineering teams to understand their needs, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for platform enhancements.

- Perform business verification steps, including login validation, access validation based on roles, and execution of Basic Verification Tests (BVT) scenarios.

5. Security & Compliance :

- Ensure all tokens are securely managed in Google Secret Manager.

- Verify that only authorized users can access the application.

Role & Responsibility :

- Proven experience managing and supporting production applications hosted on GCP.

- Strong expertise with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Kubernetes concepts (pods, deployments, services).

- Experience with GCP services such as Cloud Monitoring, Secret Manager, and managed database services (e.g., Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL).

- Proficiency with CI/CD tools and practices for automated deployments.

- Solid understanding of database concepts, including schema management and migrations.

- Experience with enterprise application integrations (e.g., Jira, Confluence, GitHub).

- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, especially in the context of Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering.

- Experience with large language models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and web scraping technologies.

- Prior experience in a Quality Engineering or DevOps role supporting testing tools/platforms.

- Knowledge of performance testing and scalability considerations for applications.
