GlobalLogic - Quality Assurance Engineer - Functional/Regression Testing

We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in software testing methodologies, test planning, test case development, and defect management.

The role involves collaborating with development, product, and business teams to identify issues, improve testing processes, and deliver high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Analyse business and technical requirements to understand application functionality and testing objectives.

- Develop comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and test cases based on functional and technical specifications.

- Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.

- Execute manual testing to identify defects, inconsistencies, and application issues.

- Identify, document, track, and manage defects throughout the software development lifecycle.

- Collaborate with developers and product managers to troubleshoot and resolve reported issues.

- Validate application functionality across different browsers, devices, and operating environments.

- Perform API testing to validate endpoints, response codes, data accuracy, and system integrations.

- Conduct database testing and validate data integrity using SQL queries.

- Participate in requirement reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning meetings.

- Ensure test coverage and maintain test documentation, reports, and execution results.

- Work within Agile/Scrum development environments and participate in daily stand-ups and sprint reviews.

- Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, quality standards, and overall testing efficiency.

- Provide regular updates on testing progress, defect status, and quality metrics.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- 5 - 10 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Testing.

- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, and STLC.

- Hands-on experience in functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.

- Expertise in preparing test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test reports.

- Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Zephyr, or similar platforms.

- Knowledge of API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.

- Good understanding of SQL queries and database testing.

- Experience in web application and mobile application testing.

- Understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills :

- Exposure to automation testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.

- Familiarity with programming or scripting languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.

- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and testing integration.

- Exposure to performance and load testing tools such as JMeter.

- Knowledge of cloud-based testing environments and application deployment processes.
