Give - Engineering Manager - System Design

About the Role :

Were looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a small but critical team responsible for building, scaling, and maintaining the technology that powers our online crowdfunding platform.

Youll work closely with the product team and other stakeholders, and will be responsible not just for delivery, but for ensuring the long-term quality and reliability of our systems.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to stay deeply hands-on while also growing into a strong people and execution leader.

Responsibilities :

- Design, review, and implement high-quality software systems and reliable architecture.

- Mentor and manage a team of 35 engineers ensuring technical excellence and personal growth.

- Own the engineering roadmap in collaboration with product and business stakeholders.

- Ensure system reliability through good dev practices, testing, and monitoring.

- Champion best practices in software engineering, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure.

- Communicate effectively across functions product, operations, and design.

Requirements :

- Proven ability to write and review high-quality code in one or more modern languages.

- Strong understanding of system design, databases, API development, and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, etc.

- Familiarity with DevOps practices and setting up observability tools.

- Ability to leverage AI tools to enhance efficiency and quality in software development and delivery.

- Ability to work with give.dos existing tech stackNode.js, MongoDB, React.js, TypeScript, and AWS.

- Prior experience in each is not mandatory, but you should be comfortable picking it up quickly.

Experience managing end-to-end product cycles including planning, execution, testing, and deployment.

- High degree of ownership and autonomy you can drive projects independently and take accountability.
