Role Description :

This is a full-time, on-site role for a GIS Lead located in Pune. The GIS Lead will oversee the development and implementation of GIS solutions, manage GIS data and systems, provide technical guidance to GIS teams, and ensure the integration of GIS applications with other business systems. The role involves collaborating with project managers, customers, and stakeholders to understand project requirements, developing customized GIS applications, and ensuring data accuracy and consistency. The GIS Lead will also be responsible for training and mentoring team members.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of GIS solutions to support organizational goals.

- Oversee GIS data management ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality across datasets.

- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to GIS team members, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.

- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver effective GIS solutions.

- Design and develop customized GIS applications leveraging various GIS platforms and tools.

- Ensure integration of GIS applications with other business systems and workflows.

- Conduct spatial analysis, cartographic design, and geospatial data visualization to support decision-making.

- Manage and optimize GIS databases using systems such as PostgreSQL/PostGIS and Oracle Spatial.

- Utilize programming languages such as Python, SQL, and JavaScript for GIS automation, data

manipulation, and application development.

- Stay updated with emerging GIS technologies, including cloud computing and web GIS platforms, and recommend innovative solutions.

- Lead project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet deadlines and quality

standards.

- Provide training sessions and workshops to enhance the GIS capabilities of the team and

stakeholders.

- Document processes, workflows, and technical specifications to maintain best practices and knowledge repositories.

Qualifications :

- Proven expertise in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and MapInfo.

- Proficiency in GIS data management, spatial analysis, and cartography.

- Experience in programming languages and tools such as Python, SQL, and JavaScript.

- Strong understanding of database management systems like PostgreSQL and Oracle Spatial.

- Familiarity with cloud computing and web GIS technologies.

- Excellent project management and leadership skills.

- Effective communication and collaboration skills.

- Relevant degree in Geography, GIS, Geomatics, or a related field.

- Experience in the AEC industry and knowledge of e-governance solutions is a plus.
