Job Title : GIS FME Developer


Work Location : Kolkata (Onsite/Hybrid as applicable)


Engagement Type : Contract


Experience : 4 to 6 Years


About the Role :


We are seeking an experienced GIS FME Developer with strong hands-on expertise in ArcGIS Desktop and FME Workbench / FME Server.


The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and automating spatial data workflows to support enterprise GIS initiatives.


Key Responsibilities :


- Develop, configure, and optimize FME ETL workflows for spatial and non-spatial data integration.


- Perform data transformations, automation, migration, and validation tasks using FME Desktop/Server.


- Work extensively with ArcGIS Desktop for data editing, spatial analysis, map creation, and geoprocessing tasks.


- Analyze business and technical requirements to design scalable GIS solutions.


- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve data-related challenges and improve spatial data infrastructure.


- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in GIS datasets, ETL pipelines, and automation tasks.


- Maintain documentation for workflows, scripts, datasets, and processes.


Technical Skills Required :


Strong hands-on experience with :


- FME Desktop / FME Workbench


- FME Server (added advantage)


- ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap / ArcGIS Pro)


- Good understanding of spatial databases (PostGIS, Oracle Spatial, SQL Server Spatial preferred)


- Knowledge of Python, SQL, or scripting languages for automation (good to have)


- Experience with spatial data formats (SHP, GDB, DWG, KML, GeoJSON, etc.)


- Familiarity with enterprise GIS architecture and data integration concepts.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.


- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.


- Good communication and documentation skills.


Education :


- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Geography, Geoinformatics, or any related field
