As a Gen AI Engineer, you will work closely with senior engineers to build and optimise AI systems that power medical report processing and autonomous clinical coding. This is a hands-on, high-impact role designed for candidates eager to learn, experiment, and grow in the Gen AI and healthcare AI domain.
Responsibilities :
- Implement Gen AI solutions for medical report processing under senior engineering guidance.
- Write, test, and refine prompts for LLMs to extract clinical information and generate medical codes.
- Assist in building RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems, including document processing and vector storage components.
- Run experiments using different prompt strategies, model configurations, and evaluation techniques.
- Support model performance evaluation by implementing metrics and conducting comparative tests.
- Contribute to data preprocessing pipelines for medical text and clinical documents.
- Participate in code reviews to learn and apply best practices for production-grade Gen AI systems.
- Help monitor, debug, and optimise model behaviour in development and staging environments.
- Document implementation details and contribute to the internal technical knowledge base.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on new features, architecture improvements, and system scalability.
- Learn healthcare regulations, clinical workflows, and medical coding standards through real-world projects.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, AI/ML, or related field.
- 1-3 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong programming fundamentals with eagerness to learn Gen AI technologies.
- Basic understanding of Large Language Models and their applications.
- Familiarity with prompt engineering concepts and best practices.
- Experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar LLM APIs (coursework/personal projects acceptable).
- Understanding of embeddings, semantic similarity, and vector representations.
- Basic knowledge of transformer architecture and attention mechanisms.
- Strong proficiency in Python; experience with pandas and numpy.
- Familiarity with ML libraries such as scikit-learn, transformers, and basic PyTorch/TensorFlow.
- Understanding of APIs, JSON structures, and data processing workflows.
- Experience with Git and collaborative development practices.
- SQL knowledge for basic data extraction and analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in healthcare, clinical processes, and AI applications.
