Role Overview :
As a GCP Data Engineer, you will be at the forefront of building and maintaining robust data pipelines and infrastructure on the Google Cloud Platform. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and other engineers to design, develop, and deploy scalable data solutions that empower data-driven decision-making. Your work will directly impact the business by ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of critical data assets, enabling better insights and improved business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and implement scalable and reliable data pipelines using GCP services such as Dataflow, Dataproc, BigQuery, and Cloud Storage to ingest, process, and transform large datasets for various analytical and reporting needs.
- Develop and maintain data models and schemas in BigQuery to ensure data consistency and accuracy for downstream consumption by data scientists and analysts.
- Automate data quality checks and monitoring processes to proactively identify and resolve data issues, ensuring data integrity and reliability for business users.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications and solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Optimize data processing and storage solutions for performance and cost-efficiency, leveraging GCP best practices and industry standards to minimize resource consumption.
- Implement and maintain data security and governance policies to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safeguarding data privacy and confidentiality.
Required Skillset :
- Demonstrated proficiency in Python for data manipulation, automation, and building data pipelines.
- Strong SQL skills for data querying, analysis, and transformation in relational databases and data warehouses.
- Experience designing and implementing data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including services such as Dataflow, Dataproc, BigQuery, and Cloud Storage.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, explaining complex data concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality data solutions.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
