Job Description :

We are looking an experienced GCP Cloud Engineer with strong expertise in Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE) and VMware-to-GCP migration projects. The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end migration initiatives, design cloud architectures, and ensure secure, high-performance operations on GCP.

Skill / Qualifications :

- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.

- 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, virtualization, or VMware ecosystem.

- Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE).

- Skilled in VMware components such as vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, NSX, and HCX.

- Proven experience in workload migration methodologies and tools (HCX, Velostrata, etc.).

- Solid understanding of networking, firewalls, VPNs, routing, and cloud network architectures.

- Knowledge of cloud security, IAM, monitoring, and logging best practices.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

- GCP certifications such as Professional Cloud Architect or Cloud Engineer are preferred.

- Experience with automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Deployment Manager) are preferred.

- Good to have knowledge of hybrid cloud architectures and enterprise-grade security practices.

Job Responsibilities :

- Lead and execute VMware to GCP migration projects leveraging Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE).

- Assess existing VMware environments, perform in-depth discovery, and develop comprehensive migration strategies and roadmaps.

- Design and implement GCVE architecture including compute, networking, storage, identity, and security components.

- Configure and manage GCVE platforms such as vCenter, ESXi clusters, HCX, and NSX.

- Perform workload migrations using tools such as Google HCX, Velostrata, and other GCP migration utilities.

- Integrate GCVE workloads with native GCP services including Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, IAM, Cloud Storage, and more.

- Troubleshoot complex issues across virtualization, networking, security, and cloud infrastructure during and after migration.

- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Network, Security, Storage, and Cloud Operations.

- Ensure compliance, security hardening, and optimization of migrated workloads for performance and reliability.

- Prepare detailed documentation including migration plans, runbooks, architecture diagrams, and post-migration support material.
