A GCP Architect designs, develops, and manages cloud solutions on the Google Cloud Platform.

This involves collaborating with various teams to ensure scalability, security, and optimal performance of cloud infrastructure and applications.

Key responsibilities include translating business requirements into technical solutions, developing cloud strategies, and implementing best practices for cloud adoption.

Key Responsibilities :

Cloud Strategy & Architecture :

- Developing cloud adoption strategies, roadmaps, and transition architectures for clients.

Solution Design & Implementation :

- Designing and implementing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions using GCP services.

Cloud Migration :

- Leading and executing cloud migration projects from on-premises or other cloud environments to GCP.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) :

- Utilizing tools like Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager for infrastructure provisioning and management.

CI/CD Pipelines :

- Implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments and ensure efficient software delivery.

Security & Compliance :

- Ensuring cloud solutions adhere to security best practices, compliance requirements, and company policies.

Performance Optimization :

- Monitoring and optimizing cloud resource usage for cost efficiency and performance.

Technical Leadership :

- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to other team members and stakeholders.

Collaboration & Communication :

- Collaborating with various teams, including development, operations, and security, to ensure successful cloud adoption and implementation.

Staying Up-to-Date :

- Keeping abreast of the latest GCP services, features, and best practices.

Required Skills and Experience :

- GCP Expertise : Strong knowledge of GCP services, including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, etc.

- Cloud Architecture Principles : Solid understanding of cloud computing concepts, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.

- Networking & Security : Experience with networking concepts, security best practices, and identity management in cloud environments.

- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) : Proficiency in IaC tools like Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager.

- Containerization & Orchestration : Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

- CI/CD : Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.

- Problem-Solving : Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Communication & Interpersonal : Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

- Cloud Certifications : GCP Professional Cloud Architect certification is often preferred.
