About the Role:

We are looking for a Functional Tester Lead to drive testing initiatives for applications within the Investment Banking / Capital Markets domain. The role involves leading functional testing activities, ensuring high-quality delivery across UI, API, and database layers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manual/functional testing, stakeholder communication, and domain expertise in asset or portfolio management systems, along with the ability to mentor testers and manage testing deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage end-to-end functional testing activities across multiple applications or modules.

- Design and review test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on business and functional requirements.

- Oversee UI, API, and database testing to ensure system functionality, performance, and data accuracy.

- Perform SQL-based validation to verify backend data and business rules.

- Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders and product teams.

- Track and manage defects using Jira / Azure DevOps, ensuring timely resolution.

- Work closely with developers, product managers, and business analysts to ensure requirements are clearly understood and validated.

- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior testers and ensure adherence to testing best practices.

- Ensure compliance with SDLC, STLC, and Agile (Scrum) methodologies throughout the testing lifecycle.

- Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency, coverage, and quality processes.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 7 to 10 years of experience in Manual / Functional Testing.

- Hands-on experience with UI, API, and Database testing.

- Strong knowledge of SQL for backend data validation.

- Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

- Proficiency in Jira / Azure DevOps for defect and test management.

- Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile (Scrum) methodologies.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Domain Experience (Preferred) :

- Experience in Investment Banking / Capital Markets environments.

- Exposure to Asset Management, Portfolio Management, or OCIO platforms.

- Familiarity with Trading systems, Front Office workflows, or Risk Management platforms.
