Functional Project Manager - ETL/Data Warehousing

Description :

The Functional Data Project Manager leads business-facing data transformation initiatives for global banking clients. The role focuses on functional ownership of data requirements, governance, and delivery coordination, acting as a bridge between?business stakeholders and technical data teams. The emphasis is on?business outcomes, data quality, and regulatory alignment, rather than hands-on technical development.

Key Responsibilities :

Functional & Business Leadership :

- Own?functional requirements for data transformation and data management initiatives

- Translate business needs into functional data specifications, rules, and acceptance criteria

- Ensure alignment of data solutions with banking processes, regulatory requirements, and business objectives

Data Transformation & Management (Functional View) :

- Lead functional oversight of data transformation and migration activities

- Define and validate data definitions, business rules, and data quality requirements

- Support data validation, reconciliation, and business sign-off

- Ensure adherence to data governance, lineage, and control standards

Project & Delivery Coordination :

- Manage functional scope, milestones, risks, and dependencies

- Coordinate between?business users, functional BAs, data teams, and project managers

- Support delivery planning, UAT, and go-live readiness from a functional perspective

Global Banking & Digital Transformation :

- Work with?global banking stakeholders across regions and time zones

- Support?digital transformation programs?including analytics and AI-driven business use cases (functional oversight)

- Ensure consistency with global data standards and operating models

Stakeholder & Consulting Management :

- Facilitate workshops, requirement reviews, and decision-making forums

- Communicate project progress, risks, and impacts to senior stakeholders

- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior functional analysts
