ROLE OVERVIEW :

The firm is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to design and build investment-facing technology platforms that enhance research productivity and alpha generation.

This role will focus on developing modern web-based applications, internal research tools, and AI-integrated workflows that support the firm's long/short equity investment process.

The ideal candidate is a product-oriented engineer with strong frontend capability, sound backend fundamentals, and a deep interest in building tools for investment professionals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Collaborate closely with investment professionals to iterate rapidly on product features and improve research productivity.

- Design and build frontend applications using React and TypeScript to support research workflows, portfolio management tools.

- Develop and maintain backend APIs (FastAPI/Python) that integrate with internal data systems and AI services.

- Build scalable, responsive, and intuitive user interfaces for research tools and visualizations, alongside analytics platforms.

- Work within production-grade environments adhering to CI/CD, containerization, and SDLC best practices.

- Contribute to DevOps workflows including Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-based deployments (Azure).

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Contribute to integration of AI-driven functionality (LLM APIs, embeddings, agents) into investment workflows.

QUALIFICATIONS :

- Strong product sense and ability to design clean, intuitive user interfaces.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related STEM field from a top-tier institution.

- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.

- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate directly with investment teams.

- Experience working in production enterprise-grade environments with robust SDLC standards is required.

- Strong frontend expertise with React and TypeScript (experience with libraries such as Redux, Router, Vite, AG Grid is a plus).

- Proficiency in Python and FastAPI for backend development.

- Experience working with SQL databases (Snowflake, Postgres).

- Familiarity with containerized workflows (Docker) and cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred).

- Familiarity with AI-native development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) and API integrations with providers such as OpenAI or Anthropic.

- Prior experience in buy-side, sell-side, or financial technology environments is a plus.

- Experience working with alternative data, structured and unstructured financial data (transcripts, research reports) is beneficial.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS :

Location : In-office, Mumbai, India (5 days per week)

Hours : India workday with 3-4 hours overlap with US Eastern Time

Team : Works directly with Portfolio Managers/investment team on UI and workflow iteration; partners with Backend and Data Engineers on APIs and data contracts.

Core Tools : React, TypeScript, state management (Redux/React Query), REST/WebSockets, AG Grid; Python/FastAPI; AI APIs and AI-native dev tools.
