Job Overview :

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior ServiceNow ITOM Technical Consultant to join our team. This role is primarily focused on ServiceNow - ITOM Service Mapping, involving the crucial task of mapping data from various systems into ServiceNow, ensuring accurate information transfer, and supporting integrations. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of ServiceNow modules, data transformation, and integration best practices, contributing significantly to the efficiency and accuracy of our IT service landscape.

Role and Accountabilities :


Service Mapping & CMDB Expertise :


- Design, develop, and deploy service maps, working extensively with Discovery patterns, to accurately represent IT services and their underlying infrastructure.


- Possess a strong understanding of CMDB (Configuration Management Database), its structure, and its relationship to IT Operations Management (ITOM).


Data Mapping & Integration :

- Develop and implement robust data mapping solutions to move and integrate data between ServiceNow and external systems.

- Create precise mappings between different data sources and ServiceNow objects, ensuring data integrity and consistency during migration and integrations.

- Assist in the integration of ServiceNow with external systems through middleware, APIs, and connectors.

- Work closely with development and integration teams to ensure seamless data flow between ServiceNow and other applications.

ServiceNow Configuration & Support :

- Configure and customize ServiceNow modules and workflows to meet specific business requirements.

- Support configuration changes related to mapping and data transformation requirements.

- Perform unit and integration testing to validate data flows and ensure accuracy/completeness after mapping and integration.

- Maintain comprehensive documentation of data mappings, workflows, and integrations.

- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for issues related to data mapping and integration.

Collaboration & Optimization :

- Work closely with business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and business processes.

- Participate in ServiceNow release planning, identifying any mapping-related changes or upgrades that might affect the platform.

- Monitor and optimize the performance of integrations and data mappings.

- Recommend improvements to streamline processes and enhance system efficiency.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Requirements :


Experience :

- Bachelor's degree with at least 7 years of ServiceNow ITOM Discovery & Service Mapping and integrating data.

- 5+ years of relevant hands-on experience specifically with ServiceNow - ITOM (CMDB, Service Mapping).

ServiceNow Integration & Scripting :

- Strong experience with ServiceNow integration tools like Integration Hub, REST APIs, SOAP, MID Server, and other integration technologies.

- Experience working with Data Transformation tools (e.g., Import Sets, Data Sources, Transform Maps).

- Proficiency in ServiceNow scripting (JavaScript) for mapping and transforming data.

Technical Knowledge :

- Knowledge of data modeling and mapping techniques in ServiceNow.

- Familiarity with SQL and querying relational databases.

- Experience with integration protocols (REST, SOAP, FTP, SFTP).

- Understanding of ITIL processes and best practices.

Skills and Certifications :


Certifications :


- ServiceNow Certified ITOM Discovery & Service Mapping.

- ServiceNow Certified - Application Developer.

- ITIL v3 certification.

Soft Skills :
