Aura is a US-based startup with a stellar ex-FANG team spanning across the US and India. Aura is hiring a Backend Engineer (15 years experience) to help us build the AI-powered tools for small businesses. Youll join a lean, product-driven team, own features end-to-end, and scale services that process real-time data from smart-home devices, LLM pipelines, and field-service integrations. Below is a brief overview of the role.

Core Responsibilities :

- Develop and maintain responsive web applications using React and Next.js

- Convert UI/UX designs into high-quality HTML/CSS/JS code

- Optimise applications for maximum speed and SEO performance

- Implement best practices in modern JavaScript, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features

- Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code

- Perform code reviews and participate in design discussions

- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and frameworks

Required Qualifications :

- 3 - 4 years of hands-on experience with React.js and Next.js

- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including ES6+ features

- Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles

- Experience with SEO best practices, server-side rendering (SSR), and performance optimisation

- Familiarity with version control tools like Git

- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills

Nice-to-Have :

- Experience with TypeScript

- Familiarity with Headless CMSs (e.g., Sanity, Strapi, Contentful)

- Basic knowledge of Web Analytics and Tag Management Systems

- Understanding of CI/CD workflows and deployment pipelines

Education :

UG : M. Tech or B.Tech/B.E. in Electronics/Telecommunication, Electrical and Electronics, Instrumentation, Information Technology, Computers, Electrical from a Tier 1/Tier 2 University
