How will you make an impact in this role ?

We are looking for a Lead Software Development Engineer (Node.js) who is passionate about building scalable, high-performance backend systems and driving technical excellence. In this role, you will lead the design and development of distributed applications, define system architecture, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to build reliable, secure, and scalable products.

You will play a key role in architectural decisions, engineering best practices, and delivering high-quality software that powers mission-critical financial products.

What You'll Be Doing :

- You will lead the design, architecture, development, and deployment of scalable, high-performance enterprise applications that solve complex business problems.

- You will drive end-to-end system design, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making for backend platforms and distributed systems.

- You will design scalable, resilient, and secure microservices-based applications using Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern backend technologies.

- You will define High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD), ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with engineering best practices.

- You will build and optimize RESTful APIs, serverless applications, and event-driven architectures to support high-volume transactions.

- You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Technical Program Managers, Architects, QA, DevOps, and Engineering teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

- You will mentor and guide software engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical problem-solving.

- You will improve platform performance by implementing caching strategies, optimizing databases, and enhancing application reliability and scalability.

- You will drive engineering excellence by promoting coding standards, CI/CD practices, automated testing, and technical documentation.

- You will troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term architectural improvements.

What We're Looking For :

- Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and Node.js.

- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js, Express.js, and backend application development.

- Strong expertise in System Design, Software Architecture, and designing scalable distributed systems.

- Experience designing and developing Microservices and Event-Driven Architectures.

- Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, event loops, concurrency, and scalable backend systems.

- Experience building high-performance REST APIs and serverless applications.

- Strong proficiency working with Relational Databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL Databases (MongoDB/DynamoDB/Redis).

- Experience implementing runtime architecture services such as caching, logging, monitoring, messaging, and security.

- Strong understanding of API security, authentication, authorization (JWT/OAuth), and secure coding practices.

- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, including services like EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, SQS, or SNS.

- Experience using Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.

- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.

- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, leadership, and communication skills.

- Experience mentoring junior developers and leading technical initiatives.
