Founding AI Engineer - LLM/NLP

Requirements :

- 3+ years of experience leading self-directed, distributed teams in a fast-paced environment with direct people management.

- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to drive decision-making and inspire teams to achieve goals.

- Proficiency in Agile/Scrum frameworks and tools for project planning and execution.

- Technical expertise in machine learning, AI, and software engineering, with experience in SaaS environments, is preferred.

- Experience with DevOps practices, technical support, and managing on-call rotations.

- Proven track record of mentoring and developing engineers at various career stages.

- Familiarity with NLP or information retrieval is a plus.

- Bachelor's or master's degree in a related field, with a focus on machine learning, artificial intelligence, or software engineering.

- Design and build our initial AI infrastructure, selecting the right stack (LLMs, Vector DBs, Frameworks) for long-term scalability.

- Rapid Prototyping : Build, test, and iterate on AI features in days, not months.

- Technical Leadership : Set the standards for engineering excellence, documentation, and AI ethics as we grow the team.

Key Responsibilities :

- System Design : Develop and maintain complex RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines and agentic workflows to solve domain-specific problems.

- Model Optimization : Fine-tune open-source models (Llama, Mistral, etc.) and optimize prompts/inference for latency, cost, and accuracy.

- Full-Stack Integration : Build the backend services and APIs required to serve AI features to end-users reliably.

- Data Engineering : Establish data flywheels collecting, cleaning, and labeling data to continuously improve model performance.
