Forward Deployed Engineer - Backend Development

Role Overview :

We are hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) / Backend Engineer to work closely with enterprise customers and solve complex, real-world logistics and supply chain problems.

This is a high-impact role where you will own end-to-end deployments, build scalable backend systems, and act as the technical bridge between clients and product teams.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement scalable technical solutions aligned with business metrics like cost efficiency, SLA performance, and optimization

- Own end-to-end deployment lifecycle including architecture, development, go-live, and post-production support

- Build and maintain backend services using Node.js or Python for routing, planning, and execution systems

- Develop and manage enterprise integrations with ERP, TMS, WMS, and OMS platforms

- Write production-grade code that performs reliably under real-world scale and load

- Lead architecture discussions, integration workshops, and client-facing technical meetings

- Act as the primary technical interface between client stakeholders and internal teams

- Translate field learnings into product improvements and platform enhancements

- Ensure solutions maintain platform integrity while addressing client requirements

- Travel to client locations (domestic & international) for deployments, go-lives, and reviews

- Work across environments including warehouses, operations centers, and executive settings

- Document architecture, integration patterns, and deployment best practices

- Collaborate with Product, Customer Success, and Engineering teams

- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to raising technical standards across the team

Must-Have Skills :

- Experience working in client-facing or deployment-heavy roles with enterprise customers

- Proven experience in end-to-end system ownership (design ? development ? deployment ? support)

- Strong expertise in building scalable backend systems and APIs

- Hands-on experience with enterprise integrations (ERP, TMS, WMS, OMS, third-party APIs)

- Strong understanding of databases (SQL + NoSQL)

- Experience with event-driven systems, messaging queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)

- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure)

- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes or containerized deployments

- Strong problem-solving and communication skills for client interaction

Preferred Background :

- Exposure to logistics, supply chain, or operations-heavy systems

- Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-ownership environments
